Up Close and Personal – Las Cruces Country Music Festival 2019

Meet Your Saturday Lineup!

The 7th Annual Las Cruces Country Music Festival promises to  be bigger and better than ever. The Saturday night lineup brings to our main stage an award-winning lineup of country music greats. Headliners Gretchen Wilson, Ronnie Milsap and Jesse G are sure to light up Las Cruces with their epic and electrifying performances. Grammy Award Winners, CMA Entertainer of the Year and major hit makers are just a few of the accolades of our Saturday night performers. The three-day-long festival features incredible live country music on two stages, food and beverages from local vendors including the best in local craft beers and New Mexico wines, the latest in CMF merchandise and a free kids area.

Gretchen Wilson

Bursting on the scene in 2004 with her Grammy Award-winning hit “Redneck Woman” Gretchen Wilson has become a fixture on the Billboard Country Charts since. Her debut album, Here for the Party produced additional chart toppers and was certified platinum with over 5 million copies sold. Her 2005 album All Jacked Up included the highest debuting single for a female artist. Wilson enjoys a loyal fan base and is known for her “every woman” message and upbeat, catchy tunes. She rocks the stage and closes out our Saturday night entertainment starting at 10:15. You will not want to miss this epic performance.

Ronnie Milsap

Ronnie Milsap has been almost completely blind since his birth in 1945. His grandparents placed him in the North Carolina State School for the Blind in hopes that he would have a better opportunity in life. It was there that he discovered music, soon deviating from the school’s classical curriculum to race music, rock & roll and jazz.
He was soon sharing bills with Ray Charles and James Brown. Ray Charles once told him as a young pianist, “Son, I can hear the music inside you.” He went on to do sessions with Elvis and others and became one of the biggest pop/AC and R&B artists of the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s. Milsap has garnered six Grammys, was CMA Entertainer of the Year, and won four Album of the Year awards. Milsap continues to inspire a new generation of country stars from Kacey Musgraves, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan as well as being a standard-setter for friends like Dolly Parton, George Strait, Willie Nelson, and Leon Russell.

Jesse G

Jesse G hails from a small fishing town in Oregon where she was part of four generations of commercial fishermen. She spent her childhood on the family boat, making money to support her dream of pursuing music. Her life was changed when she entered a Battle of The Bands contest through which she won an opening slot on Gretchen Wilson’s Portland tour date. Gretchen invited her onto her tour bus and urged her to begin her journey, and move to Nashville. Jesse immersed herself into songwriting, teaming with some of Nashville’s best and worked diligently on perfecting her sound. She signed with Gretchen Wilson’s Redneck Records and Wilson now serves as co-writer, collaborator, producer, tour mate and friend. Jesse’s debut single, “Army Ranger” has been successful on radio worldwide and the music video has amassed over a million views online. She has a full album release coming up in the Fall.

And on the Second Stage....

The Las Cruces Country Music Festival again features two stages of music to bring you non-stop country sound. Local and regional favorites including New Mexico-based Wild Horse, Austin Van, Vince Alten, Eli James Band, Saddle Brown, Tylor Brandon and will kick off the music both Friday and Saturday nights to keep the music going between main stage acts. Abe Mac Band will energize the Sunday Funday crowd with their Texas sound.

Friday night’s Second Stage lineup will kick off at 5pm with Wild Horse, a traditional country band known for playing great old hits from “old time rock and roll.” They will get your boots kicking!

Austin Van, from generations of country and western bands has opened for Clint Black, Randall King and Shooter Jennings and will hit our stage at 7pm on Friday night.

Our final Second Stage performer for Friday night is Vince Alten, currently based in Nashville who shares his sound that is “somewhere between Nashville and Texas country.” Fans will enjoy his country lyrics, piano and country/rock/blues sound.

The great sounds continue from the Second Stage on Saturday night. Kicking us off at 4pm is another set from Vince Alten, and then we welcome Eli James Band with his mix of Classic and Outlaw Country music. He brings a fun atmosphere and lots of dancing to any venue he plays, from Southern New Mexico Wine Festival, The Whole Enchilada Festival to smaller spots such as El Patio or The Game Sports Bar & Grill.

On Sunday at 1pm we welcome our final Second Stage performance with Abe Mac Band.

Abe Mac out of El Paso is inspired by Merle Haggard, and this energetic group can get you dancing to the classic sounds of traditional country with a West Texas twist. This is the second year that Abe Mac Band is performing at Las Cruces Country Music Festival for Sunday Funday.
