Las Cruces Country Music Festival nominated as ‘Event of the Year’ by the Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards

LAS CRUCES, NM (12/12/18) – The Las Cruces Country Music Festival just finished out its 6th year as the premiere event weekend of the City of Crosses. Festival-goers from near and far visit the New Mexico city of Las Cruces to experience big country musical acts performing beneath the purple mountain backdrop of the Organ Mountains. The festival’s efforts to continue producing the highest anticipated country music festival in New Mexico were acknowledged with the recent nomination of the festival as ‘Event of the Year’ by the Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards.

Nominees are selected by a survey sent to bands, artists, and presenters from previous Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards shows, and by weighted votes from radio programmers, music executives, artists, publicists, songwriters, musicians and other touring professionals from all around the seven state region.

“Being nominated for ‘Event of the Year’ by the Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards is such an honor” said Visit Las Cruces Executive Director, Jennifer Bales. “It shows that our team’s efforts to create a staple experience are being recognized throughout the region.”

The award’s show will happen Sunday, January 13th at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley and will feature live performances, celebrity presenters, laughter, and the presentation of awards.


The Las Cruces Country Music Festival is a three-day-long country music celebration developed and produced by Visit Las Cruces and the City of Las Cruces. Main attractions of this festival are the double stages featuring live country music. Notable acts have included Dwight Yoakam, Travis Tritt, Kacey Musgraves, Kenny Rogers, Lee Ann Womack, Randy Houser, Frankie Ballard, Sawyer Brown, Eli Young Band, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Rick Trevino, Dustin Lynch, The Swon Brothers, Charlie Daniels Band, Casey James, Little Texas, Bri Bagwell, Cassadee Pope, Brennin and James Wesley among others.
